About us
Too many tabs, not enough answers.
Our story
We're a husband-and-wife team. We started Kit my Room once a full renovation of our own house was finally finished. The building work had a clear plan and a clear answer at every step. Furnishing the place didn't — it turned into open tabs across a dozen retailer sites, trying to remember which sofa was the grey one under budget, which mirror was the right size. Dining chairs were the worst of it: weeks of searching before we found a set that actually matched the table, fit the room, and were all still in stock together.
We knew what we wanted the room to feel like. We just had no way to describe that to a search box — and no single site had enough range to search in one place anyway.
That's what we set out to build: a way to talk through a room out loud — the budget, the style, the dimensions it actually has to fit, the quality it needs to be — the way a good interior design assistant would.
What we're building
Kit my Room is a conversational shopping concierge for furnishing a home in the UK. Instead of filtering through endless category pages, you tell us what you're looking for in your own words — the room, your budget, a colour or style you have in mind — and we search a catalogue of furniture, lighting, and home accessories, then link you straight through to buy from the retailer.
Under the hood, we use AI to understand your request and turn it into a search across our product catalogue, then refine the results as the conversation continues. Ask for something different, narrow by price, or say a result isn't quite right, and we'll adjust — the way you'd expect from an ongoing conversation, not a one-off search box.
You're always buying directly from the retailer, at their normal price, under their own delivery, returns, and customer service — using Kit my Room doesn't change any of that. We just help you find the thing.
How we're funded
Kit my Room is free to use. We earn a small commission when you buy something through a link on our site, at no extra cost to you and no effect on the price you pay. This doesn't affect which products we show you — our goal is to help you find what you're actually looking for, not to push any particular retailer.
